CONNECT Volunteer Programme
Volunteering is an important role within our services, our volunteers enrich the lives of the people we support by contributing their time, talents and skills in facilitating opportunities for engagement in their local communities. There are many roles for volunteers within the service, depending on each individual supported, their personal choice and what they want from their volunteer experience. Some of the people we support would like to attend social activities or sporting events without the support of staff or family, others just want someone to befriend and share interests with over a cup of coffee.
Many of our volunteers go on to gain employment within the service and many of our retired staff go on to volunteer within the service after retirement, such is the level of positive experience and fulfilment gained from the role.
We have a dedicated volunteer coordinator to support our volunteers through the process of Garda vetting, induction, training and matching with a suitable placement. We provide ongoing support and training to all of our volunteers.
