Southern Services - Mission Statement

The Congregation of the Brothers of Charity is an international, religious organisation, founded by Canon Peter Joseph Triest and based on the principle that 'God is love'.

The mission of the Brothers of Charity [Southern Services] is that of a truly Christian orientated service, driven by the ethos and philosophy of the Congregation and by the active involvement of all.

We are committed to respect and value each individual and to support and challenge each person to develop his/her talents to the optimum.

To achieve these aims we will:

  • Always respect and safeguard the dignity of the human person
  • Be service user centred: adopting the principles, spirit and letter of 'Sharing Community'.
  • Prioritise the formation of service communities throughout the services
  • Involve parents, families and advocates in determining the future of service users
  • Engage suitably qualified and committed staff and volunteers
  • Provide ongoing training and motivation for staff
  • Encourage the formation and participation of local service agencies
  • Continually reappraise and refocus strategies, structures and operational policies
  • Consistently conduct our affairs in an ethical and forthright manner
