The Role
We are seeking to fill five part-time Social Care Worker posts to support adults with an intellectual disability, autism and behaviour support needs initially based in the Mid-Roscommon Residential Services. Please note all front line positions will be expected to carry out core duties such as, intimate care and challenging behaviour support.

Candidates will be required to work evenings, weekends or days and sleep over duty etc. to cover staff annual leave, sick leave and training days up to 78 hours per fortnight as the service needs require.
The person(s) appointed will be paid 30 to 35 hours per fortnight regardless of hours worked and the annual contracted hours will be rostered flexibly throughout the year as service needs require.

Qualifications / Experience
Each candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Candidates should have a recognised (HETAC) qualification in Applied Social Studies or be a registered Nurse.
  • At least 1 years knowledge and experience of working with people with an intellectual disability, behaviour support needs and / or people on the autism spectrum.
  • Interpersonal skills and styles that match with the specific needs and characteristics of the group.
  • Creativity, positivity and enthusiasm are essential.
  • A full clean driving license and access to his/her own car is essential.

Brothers of Charity Services – Community Employment Training and Work Experience Scheme for Care Support Workers.
LOCATION – Positions based throughout Co. Roscommon
CE Eligibility criteria applies. Check with your local DSP office to confirm your eligibility. 

Qualifications / Experience

• 19.5 hours per week supporting people with Intellectual Disabilities.
• No qualifications required but FETAC 5 training will be provided.
• Job specific training also provided.
• Regular mentoring to enhance you career opportunities in Healthcare.
