The Brothers of Charity Services empower people with intellectual disability / autism to live the lives they
choose. We are currently undergoing a transformation in the way in which we support and serve people with an
intellectual disability in line with best practice internationally. Our focus going forward is to form a
relationship/partnership with each individual and their family, enabling them to design their own service so that
they can enjoy a real life in a real place with a healthy balance of supports. We wish to create opportunities
for people with an intellectual disability to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the
chance to form real friendships. In order to assist us to achieve this vision we wish to recruit innovative and
proactive people who will relish the opportunity to assist in implementing this vision.

SUPPORT WORKER – Athleague Area, Co Roscommon

Could you negotiate with a young man with intellectual disabilities to overcome some challenging behaviour? Could you help him plan his day? Could you support him to connect in positive ways with his family and his local community?

This part-time position is available for a dynamic person to work an average of 10 hours per week, rostered flexibly over 6 evenings.  The successful candidate will have interpersonal skills and style that match with the specific needs and characteristics of the young man. The use of a car is essential. Salary will be in the region of between €15 to €20 per hour commensurate with skills & experience.
