Ivy House– Castlerea

 

Model of Service in Ivy House

Ivy House is a well established children’s respite service that is run by The Brothers of Charity Services, Roscommon Ltd & is located at Knockroe, Castlerea.

Ivy Houseis staffed using a Social Care, Care Assistant & Family Support model. The model is provided by experienced staff members. Each of the children & young people using the service has an identified key worker.

The young people that receive support fromIvy Houseare all registered with the Brothers of Charity Roscommon. The service is open 6 nights per week on average & caters for the changing needs of the children & young people. In some cases overnight or day respite is availed of. This involves staff meeting the high needs of the children & young people in the respite house & in some cases family support workers supporting people in their family home.

The staff work in partnership with the families & young person in identifying the priority outcomes for each person that avails of the service.

The Vision for the children & young people that avail ofIvy Houseis that the person will develop a lifestyle that guides them through adulthood & supports the lives they choose.

Multi disciplinary supports is also provided to the children & their families in relation to school, social & recreational activities.
