Are You Concerned About Your Child’s Development?
The Early Childhood Services Team provide a service for Children from birth to six years who have a developmental delay, within the Roscommon region.
What do you have to do?
Referrals can be made by Parents, or with Parental consent by G.P.’s, Public Health Nurses, Paediatricians, Community Care Personnel and other agencies.
What happens when my child is referred?
Initially you will be visited at home by a social worker who will explain what the service can offer you and your child. Our team will help you assess your child’s needs and together decide what services meet these needs.
Benefits of Early Intervention
A healthy and appropriate learning environment encourages development. Play is an important part of the growth and development of every child – enabling them to learn about themselves and their world. Children learn through play. The first six years of a child’s life are vital developmental years which is why early referral is desirable.
