Autism Services

The Autism Services is a county-based service to people with autism in the Roscommon Region. At present, the services being availed of include:

  • Eagle Court, which is a special intensive day service. An Individual Programme Plan is designed around each person to develop their talents, life and socialisation skills.
  • The Willows, this is a residential group home set, 4 miles from Roscommon on an acre site, which is in the process of setting up a ‘Pet Companion Programme’ and ‘Farm an Acre’ for the residents.
  • S.T.A.A.R. (Structured Training for Autistic Adults in Roscommon). S.T.A.A.R. is situated in Strokestown and is committed to using the T.E.A.C.H. approach in working with people with autism. It is a supported employment setting, incorporating In House Training to meet individual needs, and prepare young adults for work experience supported employment.
  • Outreach – In the autism services, we have 5 of a post for outreach services. This is a community-based service where people live at home and with the outreach worker, access everyday places and activities.
  • Loyola Lodge is a high support residential group home to six young adults with a severe and profound intellectual disability. Staff there strive to maintain a home like atmosphere where residents enjoy leisure and relaxation activities and attend Cherry House during the day.
