Roscommon Associates – Roscara Housing Association
Roscara Housing Association was started in 1994 in partnership with the
County Roscommon Association for the Mentally Handicapped.
It provides housing for people with intellectual disabilities in the County. The people rent the houses
as tenants of the Housing Association and live semi-independently. There are currently houses in
Castlerea, Elphin, Ballinlough, and Kilteevan.
The board of management of Roscara Housing Association is comprised of six staff from Brothers of Charity
Services, four members of the County Roscommon Association for the Mentally Handicapped, and one tenant
of Roscara Housing Association.
