Human Resources Department
The Human Resources (HR) Department provides advice, support and guidance regarding staff and staffing matters. The focus of the department is to provide solutions to support front line service delivery in a professional, respectful, warm and helpful manner whilst always reflecting best practice.
The Department is responsible for staff recruitment, selection, contracts of employment, supports attendance management, administration of staff benefits, job-sharing, career break, maternity leave and other benefits in accordance with legislation and best practice guidelines. Responsibility for providing support, guidance and oversight of performance are also part of the Department’s remit as is liaison with the Department of Health, HSE and other agencies on human resource matters.
Occupational Health Services are provided from within the overall Human Resources Department and promote the physical, mental and social wellbeing of all staff. The service liaises with frontline teams and supports them in conducting risk assessments where necessary. The service coordinates the immunization of staff, provides health education programmes, health promotion initiatives, conducts work related and occupational assessments, provides manual handling advice and training, counselling and coordinates the Personal Assistance Programme.
